For awhile now I have been very interested in CloudBerry database, which is a respin of Greenplum DB. I do wonder though if the CBD acronym is not something that happened by accident. There hasn't been the time necessary to get back on board with the technology. Having put a lot of time in with Greenplum, I do think it was a technology that moved the needle in so many ways. The number of technology stacks that were supported on it that touched people's live on a daily basis was amazing. Since it existed outside the popular technology ownership stack, it was being implemented because of the value it brought to the plate and not because it was part of a vendor software suite. In the age of AI there are so many workloads that it has been running for over a decade that have been pushed under that umbrella.
